How Copy Trading Works on Trendo | Automated Investment Guide

How Copy Trading Works

Copy Trading on the Trendo platform allows investors to automatically execute the trading strategies of professional traders in their own accounts.
In this system, every trade executed by the account manager is copied as a signal into the investor’s account.

Steps to Start Copy Trading

1. Review and Select the Right Account

From the Signal section in the Trendo platform menu, a list of available PAMM and Copy Trading accounts is displayed. To select the most suitable account, consider the following criteria:

  • Historical Performance: Review overall returns, performance consistency, and maximum drawdown.

  • Trading Style: Check trade duration, number of trades, and leverage usage.

  • Risk Management: Consider profit-to-loss ratio, use of stop-loss orders, and diversification across trades.

  • Fees and Commissions: In PAMM accounts, fees are calculated as a percentage of net trading profits over a specified period, while in Copy Trading accounts, the subscription fee is a fixed monthly amount.

2. Connect to the Selected Account

  1. Select your real account where trades will be copied from the accounts menu.

  2. Return to the Signal section.

  3. Click on the desired PAMM or Copy Trading account and select Connect to Signal.

  4. Carefully read the terms and conditions, and after confirming, finalize the connection.

Tip: Make sure to thoroughly review all rules and conditions before confirming to fully understand your investment details.

Note: Users can connect to multiple PAMM or Copy Trading accounts simultaneously.

3. Set the Investment Multiplier

To control risk, you can set a multiplier for trade volumes. For example, a 0.5X multiplier means that the risk relative to the PAMM manager’s capital management will be halved in your account.

Note: The volume of copied trades is calculated proportionally to the investor’s account balance relative to the manager’s account and the chosen multiplier.

How Trades Are Copied

After connecting to a Copy Trading account on Trendo, trades are copied automatically and in real-time. The process is as follows:

1. Trade Execution by Account Manager

Whenever the account manager (professional trader) opens or closes a trade, the same trade is sent as a trading signal to the Copy Trading system.

2. Signal Reception by Investor Account

Trendo automatically receives this signal and executes the same trade in the investor’s account according to their settings (including the investment multiplier) at the same price.

  • Alerts and Notifications: Every trade copied to the investor’s account triggers a notification. Copied trades are tagged as Signal and can be managed or filtered.

3. Trade Volume Calculation

The trade volume in the investor’s account is determined by:

  • Ratio of the manager’s account balance to the investor’s balance

  • Selected investment multiplier (e.g., 0.5X or 1X)

  • Original trade volume of the manager

Example:
If the investment multiplier is 1X, the manager’s balance is $5,000, and your account balance is $2,500, a 1-lot trade by the manager will be copied as 0.5 lots in your account.
If the multiplier is set to 0.5X, the same trade will be copied as 0.25 lots in your account.

4. Trade Condition Matching

All trade conditions (symbol, order type, entry and exit time, price, stop-loss and take-profit levels) will match those of the manager’s original trade.

5. Closing Trades

When the manager closes a trade, the same trade will be closed in your account. You can also manually close trades in your account without affecting the manager’s trades.

Stopping Copy Trading

Investors can temporarily or permanently stop their investments and exit PAMM or Copy Trading accounts at any time. To stop investing:

  1. Go to the Signal section in the Trendo app via the menu.

  2. Click the āˆž icon at the top-right corner.

  3. Click Turn Off to temporarily disable the signal. No new trades will be copied, but any profits earned until the end of the current period (start of the calendar month) will incur fees according to the rules.

You can also go to Signals, find the desired account, and click Remove Signal to completely stop your investment. This fully disconnects your account from the PAMM, and if the total copied trades were profitable until exit, the corresponding fees will be deducted according to the rules.
