Spread is calculated as follows:

Spread = Ask Price - Bid Price

For example, if the bid price for EUR/USD is 1.1000 and the ask price is 1.1002, the spread would be 0.0002 or 2 pips.

Types of Spread

There are two types of spreads in financial markets:

  1. Floating Spread: This type of spread fluctuates based on market volatility and can increase or decrease at different times.

  2. Fixed Spread: This type of spread remains constant and is not affected by market fluctuations, but typically comes at a higher cost than floating spreads.

How to View Spread in Trendo

In the Trendo trading platform, the spread of each trading symbol is displayed in the "Watchlist" section. To view the spread:

  1. Log in to the Trendo trading platform.

  2. In the "Watchlist" section, locate the desired trading symbol.

  3. The spread for that symbol will be displayed alongside the bid and ask prices.

Spread in Trendo Trading Accounts

All trading accounts at Trendo are ECN-based, meaning that user orders are directly connected to the market, and the broker does not interfere in setting the spread. The features of spreads in Trendo are:

  • For major currency pairs, spreads start from 0.0 pips.

  • In gold trading, the average spread during the London and New York sessions is around 0.5 pips.

  • Along with low spreads, Trendo charges a commission of $3 per standard lot for every trade.
